Yankton Bucks Basketball picked up their third win of the season on Saturday, defeating Rapid City Central 64 to 34.
Landon Potts led the way for the Bucks with 24 points, 7 assists, and 4 steals. Tucker Gilmore also cracked double figures with 14 points in the win.
Next up for Yankton is a road matchup with Sioux Falls Christian tomorrow night, as part of a boys and girls doubleheader.
Yankton Gazelles Basketball fell to 4 and 11 on the year over the weekend, with a 58 to 40 loss to Rapid City Central on Saturday.
Macy Drotzmann scored a team-high 17 in the win. Claire Tereshinski added 9 points, while Eden Wolfgram tallied 8 points and 5 assists.

Mount Marty Men’s Basketball have split their season series with Northwestern, following an 81 to 53 loss on Saturday in Orange City.
Cole Bowen led the Lancer offense with 21 points in the loss. Micah Johnson followed with 10 points, adding 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Mount Marty Women’s Basketball fell to the Northwestern Red Raiders in Orange City on Saturday, 79 to 58.
Eleven different Lancers scored in the game, with Jadyn Jensen and Sidney Thue combining for a team-high 10 points. Jensen also led MMU with 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Next up for the Lancers is a GPAC matchup with Hastings on Wednesday in Hastings, Nebraska.
Yankton Gymnastics finished 7th as a team in this year’s State Tournament on Friday, while Senior Ava Koller was able to take 8th all-around in the Individual Competition on Saturday.
In the individual competition, Ava Koller placed 8th all-around, thanks to a 4th place finish in her floor routine and a 7th place finish on the beam. Also competing individually for Yankton, Burkley Olson tied for 28th on bars, finished 32nd on vault, and took 39th on floor. Ellie Drotzmann took 31st on bars, Marissa Byrkeland was 31st on vault, Avery Portillo finished 34th on floor, and Emma Gobel took 36th on bars.
In the team competition, Yankton scored 136.809 on the day to take 7th in the event. Mitchell claimed their second straight team title with a score of 151.444.
Mount Marty Baseball went 3 and 1 in their season-opening series against Mount Mercy on Friday and Saturday.
The Lancers would drop game one on Saturday 12 to 5, before taking three straight to end the series, winning 4 to 3 in game two, 5 to 3 in game three, and 6 to 4 in game four.
Kiko Nunez, Ethan Wishon, and Bodi Wallar led the Lancer bats, as each recorded 6 hits over the course of the series. Wishon and Sophomore Joe Gokie (Go-key) lead the team in RBIs with 4 apiece.
Next up for the Lancers is a 4-game series against St. Ambrose University in Omaha, Nebraska next Saturday and Sunday.
Mount Marty Softball split their pair of games with Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday, and Buena Vista on Sunday, ending their weekend series 2 and 2 overall.
Against Minnesota-Crookston, The Lancers won game one 6 to 4, as Megan Toplovich led the way at the plate in game one, going 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Olivia Valdez was the only Lancer with multiple hits in game two, going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI in a 7 to 6 loss.
Against Buena Vista, The Lancers fell in game one 4 to 3, with Olivia Valdez going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. The Lancers used a 7-run 6th inning in game two to take a 12 to 1 win. Ella Ray went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored in the win.
Next up for the Lancers is a pair of games against William Penn University and St. Ambrose on Saturday, in Davenport, Iowa.
Yankton Bucks Hockey split a pair of games over the weekend, falling to Sioux Falls West 8 to 4 on Saturday, before defeating Watertown 8 to 2 yesterday.
Tucker Renken and Kylen O’Conner helped lead the Bucks attack in both games, scoring 3 goals each across the two games. Renken added 3 assists as well over the weekend, for a total of 6 points over the two games.
Next up for Bucks Hockey is a home matchup with Sioux Center on Friday.
Mount Marty Men’s Tennis picked up their 5th win of the season on Friday, as they swept Concordia 7 to 0.
The win is the 3rd straight for the Lancer men, in what is already the winningest season in program history.
The Lancer men will next compete against Bethany Lutheran College in Yankton on February 25th.
Mount Marty Women’s Tennis had a pair of duels over the weekend, as they fell to Concordia University in their duel in Yankton on Friday, 6 to 1, and picked up a 5 to 2 victory over Minnesota Morris on Sunday.
The Lancer women will next compete against Bethany Lutheran College in Yankton on February 25th.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball picked up their 14th win of the year on Saturday, defeating Oral Roberts 83 to 72.
Luke Appel led the Jacks offense with a season-high 25 points on the night. William Kyle III also excelled with a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double.
SDSU returns to action on Thursday for a game against the Kansas City Roos.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball extended their winning streak to 12 straight on Saturday with a 103 to 77 win over Oral Roberts.
SDSU had six players score in double figures, led by 22 from Madison Mathiowetz (Math-o-wits) and 19 from Ellie Colbeck. Tori Nelson had 11 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.
SDSU returns to action on Thursday for a game against the Kansas City Roos.
