On Monday night’s Yankton City Commission Meeting, the Yankton Police Department was given permission to apply for a Homeland Security grant to purchase four License Plate Reader Cameras.

The primary focus of these cameras would be on Highways 81, 50 and 52 as they pass through town, but can be quickly redeployed to areas of concern as criminal activity or safety issues change.
