Mount Marty Baseball is scheduled to begin their four-game series against Midland today in Fremont, Nebraska.
The Lancers are 15 and 12 on the year, having dropped their last five games in a row. The Warriors enter the series at 20 and 6, winners of six straight.
Today’s doubleheader will begin at 1:00 PM. Tomorrow’s games are scheduled to start at the same time.
Yankton Bucks Tennis moved to 5 and 0 on the year yesterday, sweeping Mitchell in a duel held in Yankton.
The Bucks’ 9 to 0 win over Mitchell is the 4th sweep of the season already for Yankton. Harrison Krajewski and Zacahry Briggs each claimed straight-set victories in singles play, as well as in doubles play as a duo.
Next up for Yankton is a triangular on Tuesday against Brandon Valley and Sioux Falls Roosevelt. Matches will be held in Brandon beginning at 11:00 AM.
Mount Marty Senior Gabrielle Goodrich has been honored as an All-American Scholar-Athlete for Cheer by the NAIA.
Goodrich is a two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete and is a dual sport athlete for the Lancers, as she also competes in Track and Field.
Mount Marty Junior Luke Rettedal took home 6th place in the men’s shot put yesterday on day one of the Wildcat Classic hosted by Wayne State University.
Rettedal was the highest-finishing NAIA athlete in the event with a throw of 15.44 meters, beating out several NCAA Division II athletes in the process.
Day two of the Wildcat Classic is scheduled to begin at noon today in Wayne, Nebraska.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Tennis are scheduled to host Midland today for a pair of duels. Matches are scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM noon.
Former Mount Marty University Women’s Basketball athlete and assistant coach Haley Froelich has been named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s Thirty Under 30 for this past season.
Froelich just completed her first season as an assistant at Clarke University under first-year head coach Adam Hocking. The Pride finished the year with a 29 and 3 overall record, breaking several program records in the process.
Froelich originally played at Mount Marty before transferring to Presentation College. Following her graduation from Presentation in 2017, she would spend two years as a graduate assistant for the Lancers, earning a Master’s Degree in Coaching and Leadership from MMU in the process.
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program is intended to recognize 30 up-and-coming women’s basketball coaches aged 30 and under at all levels of the game.
South Dakota Women’s Basketball is in Laramie, Wyoming today for a WNIT Round of 16 matchup with Wyoming.
USD has won their first two games in the WNIT by an average of 14.5 points, defeating UC Riverside 72 to 57 in round one, and Northern Arizona 79 to 65 in round two.
Tipoff from Wyoming is scheduled for 7:30 PM this evening.
