A Yankton High School student has been named a recipient of the Build Dakota Scholarship.
Trey Smith, a senior at YHS, will be attending Mitchell Technical College in the fall and will be pursuing a degree in Progressive Welding.
Smith explained his passion for welding.
As a Build Dakota recipient, Smith will work at ASTEC in Yankton once he graduates from Mitchell Tech.
Smith says that he is grateful for this scholarship opportunity.
Smith officially signed on to attend Mitchell Tech on Tuesday.
