Former University of South Dakota Basketball player Mihai Carcoana was sentenced on Thursday on a rape charge from December of 2022.
Carcoana will serve 180 days in the Clay County Jail before being deported to his home country of Romania as part of a plea agreement.
Also part of the agreement, Carcoana will be placed on the sex offender registry for life, has had his visa revoked, and will be unable to return to the United States.
