Yankton Bucks Baseball had their doubleheader against Sioux Falls Jefferson yesterday canceled due to heavy rain in the area, with no makeup date set at this time.
Next up for the Bucks is a road doubleheader tomorrow against Mitchell. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
Yankton Gazelles Softball is back in action tomorrow with a road matchup against Sturgis Brown.
The Gazelles are 3 and 4 on the year coming off of a loss to Tea Area on Monday. The Scoopers are 1 and 6 overall, dropping their last game to Campbell County from Wyoming.
First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM tomorrow.
Yankton Bucks Tennis suffered their 2nd defeat of the season yesterday, losing 8-1 to Sioux Falls Washington.
Yesterday’s matches were moved indoors to the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center, due to the heavy rain in the area. Ethan Marsh picked up the lone match victory of the day for Yankton, defeating Washington’s Joshua Kringen.
Yankton returns to the courts on Thursday with a matchup against Harrisburg.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Tennis will be in Orange City, Iowa today for a pair of duals with Northwestern. Matches are scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.
Mount Marty Women’s Golf had their tournament in Lincoln, Nebraska cut short due to severe weather throughout the area.
The Kaitlyn Erickson Invitational was called after the 1st round. Mount Marty finished 5th as a team, led by Kelsey Heath who tied for 2nd.
The Lancers next meet in the GPAC Conference Invite in Spencer, Iowa on April 22nd and 23rd.
Yankton Gazelles Golf will be in Mitchell tomorrow for a meet at Lake View Golf Course. Mitchell, Sioux Falls Washington, and Harrisburg are also scheduled to compete in the event. Tee time is set for 1:00 PM.
The University of South Dakota Women’s Basketball team recently announced the addition of graduate transfer Miah Monahan for the upcoming season.
Monahan was All-Conference as a point guard in the Ohio Valley for Eastern Illinois last season, averaging 11.2 points and 5.1 assists per game.
Monahan has only one full season of eligibility remaining.
USD Track and Field senior Erin Kinney was honored by the Summit League as the Peak Performer of the Week for the 2nd straight week.
Kinney ran on the Coyotes’ 4×100-meter relay that broke both South Dakota’s school record and the Lillibridge Track Complex record, while also winning the 100-meter this past week.
This is the 12th Peak Performer honor for Kinney in her career.
