Mount Marty Baseball swept Dakota Wesleyan in their home doubleheader yesterday, 7 to 2 in game one and 8 to 1 in game two.
Seven different Lancers recorded a hit in game one, with Ryan Bachman and Will Gardner tallying 2 RBIs apiece. Myles Brown got the win on the mound with 4 strikeouts over 3 innings.
Aidan Chang led the way at the plate in game two, finishing 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Zach Hegge was credited with the win, striking out 8 and allowing 1 run over 6 innings of work.
The Lancers were scheduled to conclude their regular season today against Concordia, but that doubleheader has been postponed. Both Universities are looking to reschedule the games for Sunday, weather permitting.
Mount Marty Softball clinched a spot in the GPAC tournament yesterday, sweeping Dordt 7 to 5 in game one and 4 to 0 in game two.
Autumn Porter went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a home run in game one to lead the Lancer bats. Mackenzie Gray got the complete game win on the mound.
Reese Peterson matched Porter in game two, finishing 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a home run. Makayla Graunke got the win with a complete game shutout.
The Lancers are scheduled to conclude their regular season on Saturday against Doane in Crete, Nebraska.
Yankton Track and Field took eight event victories during yesterday’s First Dakota Relays at Williams Field in Yankton.
Taking 1st for Yankton was Shae Rumsey in the girls’ 400, Austin Gobel in the boys’ 100, Dylan Payer in the boys’ 800 and 3200, Lance Dannenbring in the boys’ javelin, Connor Slaba in the boys’ long jump, and Cale Haselhorst in the boys’ triple jump. Evan Serck and Alex Swihart joined Gobel and Slaba to take 1st in the boys’ 400 relay.
Yankton will compete again next Tuesday in Mitchell.
Yankton Bucks Baseball is scheduled to host Madison tomorrow for a doubleheader at Riverside Field.

Yankton Gazelles Softball fell to Sioux Falls Washington 8 to 1 early yesterday morning.
Kyra Tjeerdsma led the Gazelles at the plate, finishing 2 for 3 with an RBI in the loss.
Next up for Yankton is a road matchup with Aberdeen Central tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM noon.
Mount Marty Women’s Tennis had their season come to an end in the GPAC tournament semifinals yesterday, defeating Doane 4-3 in round one before being eliminated by top-seeded Morningside 5-0.
The Lancers end the season with a 7 and 7 overall record, 3 and 4 in GPAC play, setting new program records in both categories.
Mount Marty Men’s Tennis will open the GPAC tournament today in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
The Lancers are the #2 seed on the men’s side and will face either #3 Midland or #6 Northwestern at 3:00 PM this afternoon.
Yankton Bucks Tennis picked up a pair of victories during their triangular yesterday, defeating Watertown 7-2 and sweeping Brookings 9-0.
Zachary Briggs went undefeated in singles and doubles play over the two duals, including a pair of 10-0 wins over Brookings. Harrison and Miles Krajewski, as well as Ethan Marsh, also finished the triangular undefeated in match play.
Yankton is back in action on Monday for an event in Mitchell.
Mount Marty Track and Field had a pair of athletes place in the top 6 during the Kip Janvrin Invitational yesterday in Indianola, Iowa.
Both came in the women’s pole vault, Mya Zohner tied for 2nd clearing 3.05 meters, while Carlie Schlosser was 6th, clearing 2.60 meters.
The invite is scheduled to conclude today.
Yankton Gazelles Golf was scheduled to compete in Brandon this morning, but that meet has been canceled. Next up for the Gazelles is a quadrangular next Tuesday in Sioux Falls.
