The GPAC Baseball Tournament bracket was finalized last night, and the Mount Marty Lancers will be the #8 seed this year.
MMU finished the regular season with a 14 and 14 GPAC record, with the 5 through 8 spots in the conference being separated by two games or fewer.
The Lancers will face top-seeded Concordia on Thursday in game one with their pod play taking place in Seward, Nebraska. Rounding out the Lancers pod will be #4 Briar Cliff and #5 Midland.
Yankton Bucks Baseball will host O’Gorman tonight for a doubleheader at Riverside Field. First pitch of game one is set for 5:00 PM, with pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV beginning at 4:30.
Due to forecasted weather, the GPAC Softball Tournament will now be held indoors at the American State Bank Complex in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Due to both pods now being held in the same location, game times have been changed as well. The Lancers will now open up tournament play against Northwestern at 11:00 AM tomorrow. The winner will play again at 3:30 with the loser playing a win-or-go-home game at 5:30.
Yankton Gazelles Softball outlasted Vermillion last night, securing a 10 to 9 victory over the Tanagers.
Emma Eichacker led the way at the plate, finishing 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBI. Madison Musfelt and Madison Girard added a pair of RBIs each.
Next up for Yankton is a road matchup with O’Gorman on Friday.
Yankton Bucks Tennis added another pair of wins yesterday, defeating Mitchell 6 to 3 and Pierre 9 to 0.
Zachary Briggs and Harrison Krajewski went undefeated on the day, going 2 and 0 in singles and doubles play.
Yankton is back in action today, hosting Sioux Falls Lincoln and Sioux Falls Christian. Matches are scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.
Six Yankton High School senior athletes officially signed on to continue their careers yesterday across baseball, dance, and soccer. Each athlete and their school of choice are listed below.

Mount Marty Men’s Golf is currently in 9th place as a team following day one of the GPAC Tournament, 5 strokes back of the two teams tied for 7th.
Ted Bengston leads the Lancers individually, as he is tied for 12th after a two-round 150. He is followed closely by Bennett Cassens, who is tied for 18th at 153.
The final round of the GPAC Tournament will begin at 8:45 AM this morning.
Yankton Track and Field will be in Mitchell today for a triangular against Mitchell and O’Gorman held at Joe Quintal Field. Events are scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
Yankton Gazelles Golf has a quadrangular scheduled for today at Bakker Crossing Golf Course in Sioux Falls. Tee time is currently set for noon.
Multiple sources are reporting that current Idaho Women’s Basketball coach Carrie Eighmey is set to become the next Head Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of South Dakota.
Eighmey just finished her first season in charge of the Vandals. Prior to her time in Idaho, was the head coach for Nebraska-Kearney, leading them to three straight Division II NCAA Tournament appearances, and Hastings, where she made two NAIA National Tournament appearances in three years.
Eighmey would replace former coach Kayla Karius, who left USD earlier this month to become the head coach of her alma mater, Wisconsin-Green Bay.
