Yankton Bucks Baseball was swept by O’Gorman yesterday in their doubleheader. 20 to 8 in game one and 6 to 1 in game two.
Gavin Johnson had 2 hits and 3 RBIs in game one, with Owen Wishon adding 3 hits as well. The Bucks were held hitless as a team in game two.
Next up for Yankton is a road doubleheader on Saturday in Brookings.
Mount Marty Baseball will begin GPAC Tournament play tomorrow night in Seward, Nebraska.
The Lancers are the #8 seed in this year’s tournament and will play the top-seeded Concordia Bulldogs in round one.

Mount Marty Softball will be in Sioux Center Iowa today to take on Northwestern in round one of the GPAC Tournament.
The Lancers are the #8 seed in this year’s tournament, which was moved indoors to the American State Bank Complex in Sioux Center due to forecasted weather.
First pitch between the Lancers and top-seeded Northwestern is set for 11:00 AM. The winner will play again at 3:30, with the loser playing at 5:15.
Mount Marty Men’s Golf finished 10th in this year’s GPAC tournament, the first top-10 finish for the Lancers since 2018.
Ted Bengston and Bennett Cassens led the Lancers individually, tying for 28th after shooting a three-round total of 235.
Northwestern claimed the team title, led by Jackson Laven and Quenton Caldwell, who finished 1st and 2nd individually.
Yankton Bucks Tennis split their home finale yesterday, defeating Sioux Falls Christian 6 to 3, while getting swept by Sioux Falls Lincoln 9 to 0.
Yankton is now 18 and 3 on the year and will face Aberdeen Central and Huron on Saturday in Brookings to finish their regular season dual schedule.
Yankton Track and Field claimed 12 event victories yesterday in a triangular at Joe Quintal Field in Mitchell.
The Bucks won the 800, 1600, and 3200 meter relays. Austin Gobel, Connor Slaba, Evan Serck, and Alex Swihart ran the 800. Gobel and Slaba were joined by Carson Ness and Dylan Payer in the 1600. Carson Conway, Ethan Brenden, Caden Wieman, and Isaac Petersen won the 3200.
The Gazelles claimed wins in the 400 and 800-meter relays. Charleigh Madsen, Rozlyn Adamson, Josslyn Elwood, and Burkley Olson won the 400. Adamson, Elwood, and Olson joined Alivia Dimmer to win the 800.
Individually for the Bucks, Austin Gobel won the long jump, Dylan Payer won the 800, Cale Haselhorst won the 110 hurdles, and Henry Homstad won the shot put. For the Gazelles, Keira Christ won the 100 hurdles, Alivia Dimmer won the 300 hurdles, and Charleigh Madsen won the 100.
Yankton returns to action on Friday, with athletes competing in the O’Gorman Invitational and the Howard Wood Dakota Relays. Both competitions will be held in Sioux Falls.
Yankton Gazelles Golf was scheduled to compete in Sioux Falls yesterday against SF Lincoln, SF Jefferson, and Mitchell, but that meet was canceled.
Next up for Gazelles Golf is their home meet on Friday at Hillcrest Country Club. Golfers from 18 schools are scheduled to compete in the event.
Bloomfield Track and Field claimed four event victories at yesterday’s rain-shortened Bronco Stampede in Atkinson, Nebraska.
On the boys’ side, Brock Jeannoutot won the 100-meter dash and was part of the winning 400-meter relay team alongside Hayden Loseke, Jacob Smith, and Layne Warrior.
On the girls’ side, Brooke Pinkelman won the 100-meter dash, while Carrylee Martinson won the 3200-meter run.
