Yankton Bucks Tennis leads the team standings of the ESD Conference Tournament entering the final day of competition.
Yankton has 177.5 team points and will compete for conference titles at 5 of the 6 flights. Zac Briggs at Flight 1, Harrison Krajewski at Flight 2, Luke Moeller at Flight 4, Miles Krajewski at Flight 5, and Ethan Marsh at Flight 6. Christopher Rockne will compete for 3rd at Flight 3.
Following singles play, the doubles portion of the competition will be held today as well. Matches are scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM at Match Pointe in Sioux Falls.
The Yankton Bucks Football team will be represented at the South Dakota Football Coaches Association All-Star Game next month, as two players and head coach Brady Muth were selected.
Muth is an assistant for the Red team at this year’s game, with Seniors Cayden Wavrunek (Wav-er-nick) and Shaylor Platt representing the Bucks on Team Red as well. Wavrunek is a Briar Cliff commit as an offensive tackle, while Platt, who signed with Mount Marty earlier this year, plays both running back and linebacker.
The SDFBCA All-Star Game will be held on June 8th at Dana J. Dykehouse Stadium in Brookings.
Yankton Bucks Baseball is back in action tonight, as they host Sioux Falls Washington for Senior Night at Riverside Field.
Tonight’s doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM, with pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV beginning at 4:30. Bryce Ladwig and Brayden Butler will be on the call.
Yankton Gazelles Softball will take on the Mitchell Kernels tonight in a Class AA matchup.
The Gazelles are currently 10th in the class with a 6 and 8 overall record. Mitchell is currently 5 and 7 on the year in 13th.
First pitch from Sertoma Park in Yankton is scheduled for 6:00 PM this evening.
Yankton Gazelles Golf will host the Mitchell Kernels today as the two schools compete for the Marchand Cup. Tee time from Fox Run Golf Course is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
Four members of the Yankton Hockey program have been selected to participate in the Northern Plains District Development Camp by the South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association.
The four selected for the camp are Makenzie Brunick, Grady Van Cleave, Luke Moeller, and Rylan Murphy. The camp will be held in Grand Forks, North Dakota May 16th through the 19th.
