Former Centerville Mayor Charged in Triple Homicide

A Centerville man has been arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of three people Monday night in Centerville.

Jay Ostrem, 64, who previously served the mayor of Centerville and as a sheriff’s deputy in Turner County, has been charged with three counts of First-Degree Murder.

According to South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley, the incident was reported around 10 p.m. Monday night in the 1000 block of Main Street in Centerville.

The names of the three victims have not been released at this time.
