The City of Vermillion is reporting that they have lost the last remaining force main to their Water Treatment Plant.
This comes after reporting Monday that they had lost two of the three mains.
City Manager John Prescott says that the City is working with the State of South Dakota and an engineering consultant to address the issue.
In the meantime, sanitary sewage from the community is being discharged into the Vermillion River until a solution is developed and implemented.
All City of Vermillion residents are asked to continue to reduce wastewater flows as much as possible at this time.
