Yankton Man’s Cause of Death Ruled as a Drowning

The autopsy of the man found dead after he went missing near the Missouri River in late May has revealed the cause of death as asphyxia due to drowning.

Phillip Anthony Snoozy, 23, of Yankton was reported missing on Friday, May 24th, after his personal belongings were found on the bank of the Missouri River.

Snoozy was found dead near the exit mouth of the James River on June 3rd.

Yankton County Sheriff Preston Crissey says that alcohol and drugs were present, but no foul play is suspected.
