In response to last month’s double-fatality crash, state officials are installing a four-way stop at the Highway 18-81 intersection.
The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) says they have heard concerns about the dangers of the intersection and expedited actions for an upgrade.
Plans call for installing a four-way stop with possibly other safety measures. The D-O-T announced they are gathering materials, and should be able to upgrade the site within four to eight weeks.
On June 24, two-vehicle crashed at the intersection claiming the lives of a Scotland man and his son.
