Yankton Post 12 opens up their 2024 Class A Legion Baseball State Tournament today with a matchup against the Renner Post 307 Royals.

Yankton enters as the #6 seed in this year’s tournament, while Renner is ranked #3. Yankton swept the regular season doubleheader between the two teams, winning both games 6 to 5.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM at Bob Sheldon Field in Brookings. Pregame coverage on KYNTV begins at 12:50. Bryce Ladwig and Brayden Butler will be on the call.

The Class A Legion Baseball State Tournament begins today in Brookings, and KYNTV will broadcast every game for every team.

Today’s slate of games begins at 10:00 AM, with the final game scheduled for 7:00 this evening. Pregame coverage will start ten minutes before the first pitch on KYNTV.

Hartington advanced to the finals of the Area C-1 Legion Tournament last night, defeating Creighton-Bloomfield 8 to 2.

Hartington will face Crofton today in the C-1 Championship game. Crofton defeated Hartington earlier in the tournament, 7 to 3 on Sunday.

The University of South Dakota Football team officially reported back to Vermillion yesterday, as they start Fall Camp later this week.

The Coyotes are coming off their best season at the FCS level, finishing with a 10 and 3 overall record and an FCS Playoff Quarterfinal appearance.

USD’s 2024 campaign begins on August 29th, as they host Northern State inside the DakotaDome.

The South Dakota Golf Association Junior Championships began yesterday at the Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion.

Vermillion’s Ronnie Wilharm currently leads the Girls 14/15 Division, finishing day one at 8-over par. Yankton’s Elijah Larson is currently tied for 20th in the 16-18 Boys Division, finishing day one with a 6-over 78.

Day two of the event will be held today at The Bluffs.
