A plane crash west of Irene Wednesday morning has resulted in one fatality.
Yankton County Sheriff Preston Crissey says that units were dispatched to 449th Avenue west of Irene at 7:48 Wednesday morning.
Upon arrival at the scene, Crissey says that first responders discovered that a plane had crashed.
Crissey says that the pilot of the plane was found deceased, and the name of the pilot has not been released pending the notification of family members.
Crissey says that the cause of the crash is under investigation.
