Man Charged in Bloomfield Homicides Deemed Competent to Stand Trial

The man facing charges in a double homicide that occurred in Bloomfield, Nebraska in February has been deemed competent to stand trial.

Alias Reed, 25, faces two charges of first-degree murder in the double homicide of Curtis Strom, 77, and William Reffett, 49.

Reed had initially been declared incompetent to stand trial in April, but that changed after a court appearance via zoom in Knox County on Thursday.

Reed is next set to appear in court on October 1st for a preliminary hearing.
