Yankton Bucks Football remains 4th in the latest Class 11-AA Media Polls, released on Monday.
Watertown is the new #1 team in the polls following their win over Pierre last week. Pierre falls to 2nd while Spearfish holds in 3rd. Brookings rounds out the top 5 in 5th.
Avon is the top team in the Yankton area, remaining the #1 team in Class 9-B with 23 of 24 possible 1st-place votes. Full polls for all classes are available at the end.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Soccer will host Huron this afternoon for a doubleheader at Crane-Youngworth Field.
Yankton split their doubleheader with Sioux Falls Washington on Saturday, with the Gazelles winning 2-1 and the Bucks falling 4-2.
The Gazelles will play first at 4:00 PM with the Bucks to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 3:30. Brayden Butler will be on the call.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball fell three sets to two to the Huron Tigers last night in Huron.
Jade Jere led the Gazelles with 14 kills and 2 blocks in the loss. Alaina Nelson finished with 16 assists, followed by Kaylor Luellman with 15.
Yankton returns home on Thursday to host Mitchell at 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT Plus and KYNTV begins at 6:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.
Yankton Bucks Golf finished 9th out of 16 teams in yesterday’s Bill Scholten Invitational in Brookings.
Yankton shot a 315 as a team, led by a 5-over 77 from Parker Riley. Also for the Bucks, Eli Larson shot 78, Brayden Byrkeland shot 79, Easton Vellek and Ryker Larsen each shot 81 and Kai Cody finished at 83.
Yankton will compete in the Mitchell Invitational on Friday at Lake View Golf Course in Mitchell.
Mount Marty Volleyball is on the road tomorrow night for a matchup with Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska.
The Lancers are 8 and 4 on the year, picking up their first GPAC win on Saturday over Doane. Hastings is 7 and 3 overall following a loss to the College of Saint Mary in their last match.
First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM tomorrow night.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Soccer hits the turf tomorrow night for a home doubleheader against Dakota Wesleyan.
This will be the first GPAC match of the year for both Lancer programs. The women will play first at 5:00 PM with the men to follow.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis returns to the court today for a triangular at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School.
Yankton will face Lincoln and Mitchell during the event. The Gazelles will take on Lincoln at 11:00 AM and Mitchell at 1:30 PM.
Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance has a varsity invitational tonight in Huron. Competitions are scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
The Yankton Quarterback Club will host their weekly meeting tomorrow at the River Rock Events Center on Broadway.
Augustana head football coach Jerry Olszewski will be this week’s featured speaker. Olszewski is currently in his 12th year as Vikings Head Coach.
A meal will be available for purchase beginning at 11:15 AM on Wednesday with the meeting scheduled to begin at noon. The public is invited to attend.
