Yankton Bucks Football has moved into 3rd place in the latest Class 11-AA Media Poll following their 35-7 win over Pierre last week.

Watertown remains at #1 this week with Brookings in 2nd. Tea in 4th and Spearfish in 5th round out the top 5. Pierre fell out of the top 5 this week but is still receiving votes.

Mount Marty Men’s Cross Country finished 3rd as a team in the Wildcat Invitational cross country meet on Saturday, with Freshman Joseph Cross finishing 1st individually.

Cross posted a time of 26:33.69 to take first. MMU teammate Logan Ferrari also earned a spot on the podium taking home 3rd.

Next on the schedule for MMU is the Briar Cliff Invitational on Saturday, October 5th at the Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Golf are both 2nd after the opening day of the MMU Tatanka Invite.

The Lancer Women shot a 361 as a team, 6 shots back of leader Dakota Wesleyan. Kelsey Heath leads the Lancers individually, as she is 2nd after round one.

The Lancer Men are 11 strokes off leaders Midland following a day one 328 as a team. Ted Bengston leads MMU, tied for 2nd individually after a first-round 79.

The Tournament will conclude today.

Yankton Gazelle Tennis is currently 4th as a team after Day one of the ESD Conference Meet.

The Gazelles have their top 3 singles competitors all in the semifinals of their flights, Nora Krajewski at Flight 1, Sabrina Krajewski at Flight 2, and Paige Mitzel at Flight 3. In doubles play, Karalynn Koerner (Kerner) and Meagan Scott advanced with a play-in victory at Flight 3.

The ESD Conference Meet will conclude today in Aberdeen. Matches are scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM.

Yankton Bucks Golf finished 6th as a team at yesterday’s ESD Conference Meet, shooting 340 as a team.

Pierre won the team title with a 314. Individually, Yankton was led by Kai Cody and Elijah Larson who tied for 15th after shooting an 83.

Yankton now prepares for the state meet, taking place on October 9th and 10th at Cattail Crossing Golf Course in Watertown.

Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance competed in Harrisburg over the weekend, taking 5th in dance and 11th in cheer.

Yankton Dance was boosted by a 255 in Pom, tying for 3rd in the event, and a 4th place finish in Jazz. Cheer finished with a score of 205.

Next up for Yankton Cheer and Dance is the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Invitational on October 7th at the Sanford Pentagon.

Mount Marty Volleyball returns to the hardwood tonight to host in-state rivals Dakota Wesleyan inside Cimpl Arena.

The Lancers are 10-6 on the year following a 3-0 sweep over Haskell Indian Nations University on Saturday. Dakota Wesleyan enters at 8-8.

First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM this evening. Pre-match coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 7:00. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

Yankton Gazelles Volleyball is back home tonight to host the #1 team in Class AA, the Sioux Falls Jefferson Cavaliers.

Sioux Falls Jefferson is undefeated on the year at 8-0. Yankton enters with a 3-12 record following their loss to Aberdeen Central on Saturday.

First serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM this evening. Pre-match coverage on KYNT Plus and KYNTV begins at 6:30. Brayden Butler will be on the call.
