The Tea Area Titans Marching Band was named overall Grand Champion at this weekend’s March to the Meridian band contest.
Tea was also named Parade Grand Champion as well as winning six other top awards.
The Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles took the top prize in the Field Division. The Crofton Warriors Marching Band took first in the Class ‘C’ Parade Division, as well as netting best winds and drums in the field division.
The Scotland Highlanders took the Street Show prize among class “C” schools. As host of the competition, Yankton did not compete but participated as an exhibition band only.
Also, a collegiate band participated in March to the Meridian for the first time ever, as Wayne State College also performed an exhibition routine.
