Mount Marty Volleyball was defeated by the #18 ranked Midland Warriors last night three sets to one.

The Lancers were able to take set 3 over Midland 25-20. The set win was sealed with a kill by Grace Nesdahl.

Nesdahl kill – (:11) “… set three.”

MMU is on the road for their next match, taking on Waldorf in Forest City, Iowa on Saturday.

The GPAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Preseason Polls were released yesterday, with the Lancer women picked 9th and the men picked 10th.

On the women’s side, defending NAIA champions Dordt claimed the top spot, with each of the remaining top 5 teams of Concordia, Dakota Wesleyan, Northwestern, and Briar Cliff all receiving at least one first-place vote.

On the men’s side, Concordia was picked as the preseason favorite, earning 6 first-place votes. #2 Northwestern and #3 Dordt also received votes for the top spot.

Former Mount Marty Track and Field Athlete Calli Davis has joined the University of South Dakota Track program as a graduate assistant.

Davis is originally from Elk Point, South Dakota, and placed 9th in the NAIA in the women’s 400-meter run during her career at MMU.

Davis is one of eight recruits who were announced to join the USD program on Wednesday.

Yankton Cross Country will be on the road today for a meet in Huron. Races are scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM at Huron Broadland Creek Golf Course.

Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance will compete in the Eastern South Dakota Conference Meet tonight in Brandon, SD.

Events will be held at Brandon Valley High School, beginning at 5:00 PM.

Yankton Gazelles Volleyball is back in action tonight for a road matchup with the Pierre Governors.

First serve from the State Capital is set for 7:00 PM.

The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats wrap up their regular season tonight with a road matchup against Bloomfield.

The Wildcats are 6-1 on the year coming off of back-to-back victories, while Bloomfield enters the contest at 4-3.

Tonight’s matchup is the Northeast Nebraska High School Football Game of the Week for Riverfront Sports. An audio-only broadcast for the game can be found on the KYNTV YouTube Page. 

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM with pregame coverage beginning at 6:45. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

Yankton Bucks Football is on the road tomorrow night to take on the Tea Area Titans in Tea.

Yankton enters the matchup as the #1 team in the latest Class 11-AA Media Polls and is tied with Watertown for 1st in the seed points standings.
