Yankton’s Ava Gilbertson and Melania Enfield have been selected as All-State honorees for Competitive Dance by the South Dakota Dance Coaches Association.

Gilbertson and Enfield are both seniors for the Gazelles. They helped lead the competitive dance team to a third-place finish at the state meet.

Mount Marty Volleyball fell three sets to two to the College of Saint Mary last night in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Lancers won set one and set four of the match. Caitlin Guenther and Jaya Wachholtz tied for the team lead in kills with 12. Tevan Erickson finished with 51 assists for MMU.

The Lancers, now 12-13 on the season, return to Cimpl Arena on Saturday for their final home match of the regular season on Saturday against Hastings.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Soccer were swept by Doane last night in a GPAC doubleheader.

The Lancer Women were shut out by the Tigers 2-0. MMU ends their regular season with a 4-12-1 overall record.

The Lancer Men were defeated by Doane 4-2. Zach Hebda and Ayden Taylor each scored in the match for the Lancers. MMU ends their regular season with a 4-11-1 overall record.

The Crofon Warriors are the Sub-District C2-6 Volleyball Champions following their five-set victory over Elgin Public-Pope John last night.

With the win, Crofton advances to the District Finals to take on Yutan on Saturday.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball are in action tomorrow, with the Men hosting Mayville State while the Women take on Barclay University.

The Men are scheduled to play first at 6:00 PM with the women to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:30.

Yankton Bucks Football enters the postseason as the #1 seed in Class 11-AA, hosting the #8 Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles tonight in round one.

Yankton is 7-2 following last week’s 80-14 win over Mitchell, entering the postseason on a 5-game win streak, outscoring opponents 202-35.

Crofton Warriors Football is set to host Thayer Central tomorrow in the Class D1 State Playoffs.

Crofton is the #3 seed following their 64-22 win over Bloomfield last week. Thayer Central defeated Johnson-Brock in their last game, 36-30.

Cedar Catholic Trojans football begins their postseason tomorrow, hosting Oakland-Craig in Hartington.

The Trojans are the #7 seed in Class C2, ending the regular season with a 7-2 overall record. Oakland-Craig is the #10 seed with a 6-3 record.
