Yankton Gazelles Volleyball wraps up their regular season tonight with a road match against the Brookings Bobcats.

Yankton enters tonight’s match 17th in Class AA, 0.111 seed points outside of the SoDak 16. Brookings is currently locked into the SoDak in 12th.

First serve from Brookings High School is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

Mount Marty Volleyball ends their season tonight with a road match against Doane in Crete, Nebraska.

The Lancers are 12-14 this season, 4-11 in GPAC play. Doane enters tonight’s match with an 8-20 record, 3-12 in the GPAC.

First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM this evening.

Former Yankton Bucks Kicker Trevor Paulsen has been selected as the GPAC Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced yesterday.

Paulsen is currently a Sophomore for Morningside. Paulsen went 2 for 2 on field goals last Saturday with a long of 38 yards in Morningside’s 13-7 win over Northwestern. 

Paulsen is 3 for 4 on field goals this season for the Mustangs.

Mount Marty Women’s Basketball returns to the hardwood tomorrow night to host York University inside Cimpl Arena.

The Lancers are 2-0 to start their season, outscoring their opponents by a combined 170-72.

Tip-off from Cimpl Arena is scheduled for 6:30 PM tomorrow night. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:00. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

Wayne State head football coach Logan Masters will be the featured guest speaker at tomorrow’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.

Masters is in his third season as Wayne State head coach, posting a 6-3 record this season and a 23-9 record during his tenure.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at noon at the River Rock Event Center. A paid meal will be served beginning at 11:15 AM.

USD Men’s Basketball is 1-0 to start their 2024 season following last night’s 93-79 win over Southern.

Five different Coyotes posted 10+ points in the win, led by 14 points from Paul Bruns. Chase Forte followed Bruns with 13 points, adding 6 assists and 4 steals.

The Coyotes are back in action tomorrow, taking on Texas A&M-Commerce inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

USD Women’s Basketball fell in overtime to Saint Louis last night, 85-83 in their season opener.

Grace Larkins led the Coyotes with 27 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals, leading the team in all categories.

USD is on the road on Friday for their next game against Air Force. 

SDSU Men’s Basketball picked up an 80-73 win over McNeese State yesterday in the Field of 68 Opening Day Showcase.

Joe Sayler led the Jackrabbits in scoring with 18 points in the win. Oscar Cluff, a transfer from Washington State, added a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double for SDSU.

SDSU has their home opener on Friday, hosting Long Beach State in Brookings.

SDSU Women’s Basketball is 1-0 to start 2024, outlasting Rice to secure a 65-63 road victory.

SDSU had four players score double figures, led by 17 points from Brooklyn Meyer, and 16 points from Haleigh Timmer.

SDSU has their home opener on Friday, hosting Creighton in Brookings.
