During a signing event at Yankton High School on Wednesday, a dozen Yankton student-athletes announced where they would continue their academic and athletic careers.
All twelve athletes, their future colleges, their sport of choice, and an interview with each are available below.
Abe Chance – Concordia Cross Country/Track:
- Member of the 2022 ESD Conference Championship team.
Bode Thurman – Mount Marty Football:
- 3 Year Letter Winner, 2 Year Starter, 2023 11AA State Runner-Up.
- Honor Roll
Brooklyn Offe – Mount Marty Cheer:
- Sideline/Competitive Cheer.
- 4-time competitive cheer letter winner.
- Honor Roll and National Honor Society
Bryce Kral – Mount Marty Football:
- All-State, 2023 11AA State Runner-Up.
Carson Ness – Northwestern Football/Track:
- 2-Time All-State, All-Conference, Elite 45 Honorable Mention.
- 2-time Academic All-State.
Connor Perakslis – Dordt Hockey:
- National Champion with Team South Dakota.
- 10 goals, 11 assists, 21 points across 13 games this season.
- National Honors Society.
Connor Slaba – Northwestern Football/Track:
- Football: All-State and All-Conference.
- Track: Nike All-American, All-State, and All-Conference.
- National Honor Society and Academic All-State.
Derrick Biel – Mount Marty Football:
- Member of 2023 11AA State Runner-Up team.
Lucas Cordell – Wayne State Football:
- 2-Time Football letter winner, Lynch Award for Football, All-State, All-Conference.
- Rule of Excellence.
Matthew Sheldon – Mount Marty Football:
- All-American, All-State, All-Conference
Parker Kisch – Morningside Bowling:
- Team is currently 11-1 on the season. Senior night on Friday, February 7th.
