Yankton Gazelles Basketball will be on the road tonight to take on the Pierre Governors in the state capital.
Yankton is currently on the outside looking in for the SoDak 16, as they are 19th in Class AA with 7 games remaining. The Governors are currently 7th in the class with a 6-5 record.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball travels to Mitchell tomorrow night for a GPAC doubleheader against Dakota Wesleyan.
The Tigers swept the Lancer men and women when the in-state rivals met in Yankton on January 18th.
The women play first at 6:00 PM tomorrow night at the Corn Palace with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:15. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.
Mount Marty Softball opens their 2025 campaign today, taking on Peru State and William Penn in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Lancers are entering their first season under new head coach Cassandra Brown, who joined the program after serving as head coach at Alabama A&M for five seasons.
MMU will face Peru State in their first game at 3:00 PM before taking on William Penn at 7:00.
Yankton Gazelles Gymnastics travels to Sioux Falls tomorrow for the Class AA State Gymnastics Qualifier at Lincoln High School.
The event was originally scheduled to be held in Watertown, but was moved due to expected poor weather conditions in the Watertown area this weekend.
Yankton will compete in the first session of the day at 9:30 AM tomorrow. Pierre, O’Gorman, Sioux Falls Jefferson, Sioux Falls Washington, Watertown and Huron are also scheduled for the first session of the day.
Mount Marty University will host the Mount Marty Last Chance indoor track and field meet today at the Ruth Donohoe First Dakota FIeldhouse.
Today’s competition is the last for the Lancers ahead of next week’s GPAC Indoor Championships. Events are scheduled to begin at noon.

Wrestlers from nearly 20 schools are expected to attend the competition. Matches begin at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning.

South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball picked up their 5th conference win of the season last night, defeating Denver 86-79 in Denver, Colorado.
Chase Forte led USD with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 streals. Dre Bullock added 20 points for the Coyotes with Isaac Bruns scoring 18.
USD is on the road again tomorrow night, taking on Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball fell to Oral Roberts last night, 88-62 inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
Carley Duffney posted a game-high 24 points in the loss, while Grace Larkins secured a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Coyotes are on the road in Fargo tomorrow afternoon to take on North Dakota State. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball had their 2nd highest scoring game of the season last night, defeating St. Thomas 102-86.
Owen Larson led SDSU with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Joe Sayler added 16 points, while Yankton alum Matthew Mors recorded 13 points and 3 rebounds.
The Jackrabbits are off until next Thursday night when they host the Omaha Mavericks.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball hosts the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles tomorrow inside First Bank & Trust Arena.
The Jackrabbits are undefeated in Summit League play at 10-0, including an 81-76 win over Oral Roberts in Tulsa on January 2nd. SDSU’s 5-point win was their closest victory in conference play so far this season.
