Mount Marty University has announced that Head Men’s Soccer Coach Oliver Tieleman has resigned from his position, effective the end of the month.
Tieleman has been at the helm of the Lancers program since 2022. Tieleman led the Lancers to a program record seven wins in his first season. Tieleman is 3rd all-time in wins as head coach for the Lancers.
Mount Marty University will begin a national search for the next head men’s soccer coach.
Due to inclement weather, several activities in the area scheduled for yesterday were postponed or canceled.
- Avon Girls Basketball vs Freeman was postponed with no makeup date set at this time.
- The Yankton Middle School boys’ and girls’ wrestling tournament was canceled with no plans to makeup the event.
- The seventh and eighth grade boys’ basketball games between Harrisburg South and Yankton were canceled and will not be made up.
- The boys’ basketball game between Chester and Centerville was rescheduled for Thursday, February 20th.
Mount Marty Head Women’s Basketball Coach Alan Betram and University of South Dakota Head Football Coach Travis Johansen will be the featured guest speakers at tomorrow’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.
Bertram is in his third season in charge of the Lancer women’s basketball program. He holds a 23-58 record at MMU, including 10-15 this season.
Johansen was recently named the new head coach of the Coyotes following the retirement of Bob Nielsen. Johansen previously served as USD’s Defensive Coordinator since 2019.
A meal will be available to purchase at 11:15 at the River Rock Event Center with the meeting beginning at noon. The public is invited to attend.
South Dakota Coyotes standout Grace Larkins has been named the Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week for the 5th time this season, the league announced on Monday.
Larkins earned the award following her record breaking performance on Saturday, setting a new conference and school record with 47 points in a single game.
Larkins and the Coyotes are back in action tomorrow night, hosting Kansas City inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball is on the road tomorrow night, taking on North Dakota State in Fargo, North Dakota.
SDSU is a perfect 11-0 in Summit League play this season with only 5 games remaining. The Jackrabbits defeated the Bison 63-55 in Brookings when the two teams met earlier this season.
Tip-off from Fargo, ND is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night.
Hartington-Newcastle Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball hosts Wausa tonight in a doubleheader.
