Election Day is Here for Yankton City Commission and School Board

It’s election day for the Yankton City Commission and School Board.

There are nine candidates for city commission; Brian Bertsch, Tom Bixler, Bill Conklin, Ashley Dimmer, Pat Grant, Camillia Higgins, Zach Hoover, Sam Hummel, and Dave Spencer. Three seats are open on the commission.

For the school board, there are five candidates; Sarah Brandt, Justin Frick, Ellie Kajer, Brennan Novak, and incumbent Sara Carda. Two seats are open in that race.

Yankton City Manager, Amy Leon says two voting centers will be open today.

Polls will remain open until 7 p.m. tonight.
