Fatal Stabbing in Wagner

A Wagner man was found stabbed to death inside his home Monday afternoon.  41-year-old George “Bug” Cournoyer, Junior was found dead in the south tribal housing unit in Wagner according to the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office. Rural Economy in the Region is Improving

A new monthly survey of bankers suggests the economy is improving in rural parts of ten Plains and Western states, including South Dakota and Nebraska.  Creighton University economist Ernie Goss said the region still has about 95,000 fewer jobs than it did before the pandemic. SD Civil Air Patrol to Deliver Vaccines

The South Dakota Wing of the Civil Air Patrol is assisting the State Department of Health in delivering the first allocation of coronavirus vaccines. The Civil Air Patrol says they are flying the Pfizer vaccine to smaller communities in South Dakota with its fleet of single-engine planes, flown by volunteer pilots and crews.read more »

COVID-19 Vaccine Arrives in South Dakota

The COVID-19 Vaccine from Pfizer has arrived in South Dakota.  The State Department of Health says the vaccine was given to Avera Health in Sioux Falls and Monument Health in Rapid City on Monday, and Sanford Health will receive their initial doses today. A South Dakota state lawmaker has tested positive for the coronavirus days after visiting Gov. Kristi Noem’s mansion and attending the Governor’s budget speech at the Legislature.  Senator Helene Duhamel, a Republican from Rapid City, became ill and tested positive on Wednesday, the day after she was in Pierre meeting with lawmakers.read more »

Gavins Point Dam Has Reduced Average Discharge

Suspicious Fires in Rapid City
